Ellsworth boys rescued from train car
Two five-year-old Ellsworth boys were rescued from the inside of a coal car July 28 on the rairoad tracks in Ellsworth. No injuries were reported.

Gladys Zavesky, 93, Kanopolis, died Thursday, Sept. 3, 2009, in Ellsworth.

She was born March 10, 1916, in Lincoln County to Spencer and Uzillah Walls Donley. A lifetime resident of the Kanopolis area, she was a homemaker.  She was a member of the United Methodist Church and Methodist Women's Circle, Ellsworth.

On July 12, 1933, she married William H. Zavesky Sr. in Ellsworth.  He preceded her in death Sept. 18, 1995.

Survivors include a son William Zavesky Jr., Kanopolis; a daughter, Cynthia Olson Frederick, Hayti, S.D.; a sister, Lois Muchow, Brookville; six grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 1-8 p.m., Friday and 8-10 a.m. Saturday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth.

The funeral service  will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with burial following in Kanopolis Cemetery.
