Ellsworth boys rescued from train car
Two five-year-old Ellsworth boys were rescued from the inside of a coal car July 28 on the rairoad tracks in Ellsworth. No injuries were reported.

(1941-2009)

David A. Shute, 67, Kanopolis, died Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009,  in Russell.

Born Nov. 26, 1941, in Salina, he was the son of James and Odessa Southworth Shute.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Scott Shute.

Survivors include son Bernard, Kanopolis; daughter Shannon Kingsley, Salina; sisters Margert Shamburg, Salina, and Beverly Smith, Ames, Iowa;  and one  granddaughter.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Nov 20, at Kanopolis Cemetery.
