New EMS personnel plan approved

At Monday's meeting of the Ellsworth County Commission, a new personnel plan for the Ellsworth County Emergency Medical Service was approved.

Shelly Maze, EMS director, said technician Terri Stone will resign as of Dec. 10 to take a job as a nurse at the Ellsworth Correctional Facility. That leaves the department with two open positions.
However, Maze said she will absorb the two positions by switching from a three-man shift to a two-man shift, which would save the county money.

Maze plans to hire a full-time assistant director and a full-time billing person.

“I think it sounds like a plan," Commissioner Terry Kueser said.

“I hope it works," Commissioner Al Oller said. “I think it is a good plan."

Read the Nov. 26 edition of the I-R for more on the commission meeting.
