Ellsworth boys rescued from train car
Two five-year-old Ellsworth boys were rescued from the inside of a coal car July 28 on the rairoad tracks in Ellsworth. No injuries were reported.

Kansas Gas Service to start Kanopolis upgrade

Kansas Gas Service will begin replacing distribution service lines and relocating gas meters throughout the city of Kanapolis, beginning Friday, Dec. 4.

“The project is part of our scheduled maintenance and system-improvement program," explains James Lambert, Kansas Gas Service manager of community relations.

Customers affected by this project will be notified by Miller Paving and Construction, the contractor assisting Kansas Gas Service, or by a service notification card that will be posted at their home or business. This project is expected to be completed in four weeks and company officials do not anticipate any major interruption to traffic flow.
