Ellsworth boys rescued from train car
Two five-year-old Ellsworth boys were rescued from the inside of a coal car July 28 on the rairoad tracks in Ellsworth. No injuries were reported.

MOUNTAIN HOME, Ark. - Frank W. Warta, 94, died peacefully Dec. 30, 2009 in Mountain Home, Ark. with Naomi by his side.  
     He was born Sept. 16, 1915 in Ellsworth to W.B. “Jim" and Mary Dolezal Warta. A resident of Mountain Home for eight years, he lived most his life in Ellsworth. He was a retired farmer and rancher. He was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus and former member of many farm and ranch organizations.
     On July 3, 1939, he married  Mabel Rose Donley in Ellsworth. She died July 1, 1982.  On July
17, 1985, he married Naomi McClain in Salina.
     Survivors include his wife Naomi, Mountain Home; sons James and wife Laura, Ellsworth, Thomas and wife Diane, Abilene and Flint and wife Connie, Ellsworth; daughter Judith Nivison, Bailey, Colo.; stepson Jerry McClain and wife Elizabeth, Stilwell, Kan.; stepdaughter Judy Neuburger and husband Gary, Cibolo, Texas; nine grandchildren,13 great-grandchildren, four step grandchildren and six step great-grandchildren.
     Visitation will be 1-8 pm Sunday at Parsons Funeral Home, Ellsworth with a vigil service at 6 p.m.
     Funeral Mass will be held 10 a.m, Monday, Jan 4 at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, Ellsworth with burial following in the EllsworthMemorial Cemetery.
     Memorial contributions may be made to the church or Hospice of the Ozarks Hospice House, in c/o Parsons Funeral Home, P.O. Box 45, Ellsworth, Ks. 67439.
