Teachers DEBBIE MAI Wednesday April 28, 2010
For any of you readers who misconstrued my opinion of reading logs as a put down on teachers, I would like to explain to you that it is not the teacher it is the reading log I have a problem with. I also have a problem with my daughter not filling out her reading log. I did not blame the teacher for giving my daughter a B-, I was upset that my husband and daughter did not get the reading log filled out. The teacher DID indeed tell my husband that our daughter's reading log was vital to her grade and because I work at night when the homework is done, silly mom put dad in charge of getting everything completed. Unfortunately, the reading log did not get filled out the first semester and resulted in a B-. I have placed the responsibility on my daughter to improve her grade, she has the potential to have all A's and that is what I expect of her. She is reading AND filling out her reading log and it has taken me since the first semester and she has only gotten a B, that is better than a B- but my hope is that by the end of the school year she will get an A. Anyways, I just wanted to clear the air, my opinion of teachers is actually very high, I do not want their job and I actually think the teachers in Ellsworth are doing a very good job.
Random Things DEBBIE MAI Thursday April 22, 2010
Okay, it has been a while, sorry about that. I just realized that I sometimes come across crabby and abrasive, well, not really, I have known for a while, but I just had a conversation with my husband and then a friend and thought, "geez, what a B***** I can be." Okay, I seriously have a type of insomnia that is caused by other people, I am sure that the medical world has just not named it. I can sleep through the night until someone or something wakes me up, then, BAMM!! I am awake for several hours before I can rest my weary head again. So, anyways, I was so excited that I had a client cancel so I could take a nap and low and behold I fell asleep. Of course this was short lived due to the phone call I received from my husband. I answer it, "hellooo?" and he says, "hey, I guess Kyler and Sons is engulfed in flames." My response is, "really?! I was taking a nap, you woke me up to tell me that?" Of course he did not know that my client had cancelled so he did not know that I would be trying to catch up on the rest I missed due to the thunder and lightning and small child who interrupted my sleep, however, I personally blamed him, dang, poor guy. And yes, bummer about the fire, I am sure I can read about it in the paper. Then a friend/client calls and she asks, "whatcha doing?" my response is, "chewing gum". It was true I was! Right now due to my lack of sleep I am surprised I can accomplish that task. She was surely amazed. Anyways, that led to making an appointment then talking about her kittens and how my orange cat that has no name is almost worthy of a name since he has finally allowed me to pet him, if he becomes more friendly he will no longer have to have a name that begins or ends with a**. Yeah, lucky jacka** and a**hole will finally be called something more dignified like Orangy. Actually, I think the reason he avoids me is he knows what my plans are for his manhood, pretty much the same as every other male I come into contact with. Bye Bye family jewels, unless you are rubies or diamonds I have no use for you. More useless information to come next month, I promise! By the way, I am taking orders for Nails by Debbie t-shirts, so, if you have been Nailed by Debbie or are interested in getting Nailed by Debbie let me know, the t-shirts are cool and I have to thank my awesome friends for pulling it all together for me. Yeah!
