Crazy DEBBIE MAI Tuesday May 25, 2010
I feel I am a certified crazy person. They don't give certificates away at the store, but I certainly need something to hang on my wall. Hello, you have just checked out of reality and entered Debbie's Crazy Place. What makes a person crazy? I suppose it is something different for everyone. My list is really pretty dang long and doesn't seem to be getting shorter anytime soon. I am going crazy over my kids growing up, my job, my parenting skills, my friends, my family, neighbors, weather, not being able to sleep. For me, I always thought I didn't care what others think, turns out, I do care. It sucks to care, not like to love and care but, really why do we care what others think of us so much? See one more thing to drive me crazy. I let people into my home and my life when I do their nails. Most of my clients are like family to me. Back to what drives me crazy, family, it can drive almost any sane person over the edge to worry about their family. Back to why do I care what others think? Why do you care what I think? I don't know and it drives me crazy. I know that some people think I never spend time with my kids, they only see Jeff with them, (IN THE EVENINGS)- duh! when I am working- double duh! Jeff can't believe these people exist. I told him I have lived in a small town a lot longer than him, THEY..DO..EXIST! Crazy people who have nothing better to do than make an already insane mom feel bad for not doing a better job of hanging out with her kids. Seriously?! Then you talk to a man and ask them, "what do you worry about?". Chances are they don't worry about much because they have a woman in their life that is doing all the worrying for them, their kids, their sisters, nephews, nieces, children's friends, laundry, housecleaning, religious upbringing, school work, how to spend the summer, how to budget.......taking a deep breath here.......anyways, I don't think I am the only female who feels this way, but I am the only living in my head at the moment, I may have multiple personalities, but we all answer to the same name. So, I hope you enjoyed the monthly Dose of Debbie, I think I just retitled my blog, hmmmmmmm, sounds good, or maybe it could be Dose of Crazy. I have plenty of crazy to share, just ask anyone who knows me, teehee, hahahaha, evilgiggles, mwhahaha, see you in a month:)
Jerks and Mean Parents DEBBIE MAI Tuesday May 04, 2010
Have you ever met someone and immediately thought, what a jerk? Who hasn't? What I want to know is what motivates a person to go out of their way to be a jerk. I am sure there has been a study done somewhere to explain the jerkiness of jerks. What is a jerk? How do you become a jerk? Who traumatized these people as young children to turn them into jerks? If there hasn't been a study done I would love to have the financial backing to do the study and create an anti-jerk pill. I have met quite a few lately and am just tired of people who LOVE conflict and chaos. I know it is a lot to ask of people, you know, try to be nice, solve a problem without being rude, don't go out of your to be mean. People wonder what is happening to our world. Too many jerks, not enough nice people. Which brings me to the other thing that is bothering me. Parents who are too nice to their kids and don't discipline their children because they don't want their kids mad at them. Do you know people like this? I am a mean mom, I am told that frequently. When my children tell me this, I feel like they are cheering me on, because I am doing my job. I know it is mean of me not to let them ride their bikes all over town. I am so mean I won't let them go to the park by themselves without my cell. Horribly mean because I won't let my daughter go to a friend's house, when I do not know the parents. Isn't our job as parents to protect our kids? Then dang straight, I am going to continue to be mean (with love), I am actually pretty good at it. So, it is okay to be mean to your kids, but do not be a jerk to everyone. I always liked the song from the coca-cola commercial, if I could teach the world to sing in perfect harmony, lalalala... Wouldn't life be good if we could all just get along. Word to the crazies, jerks, mean spirited, haters, do unto others as you would have done to you. HELLO, that means, if you do not like people treating you like crap, DON'T treat others like crap.
